Environmental protection is one of our Company core values.

In this context, the sites of our group make every effort to reduce their water and energy consumption, limit wastewater discharges and improve waste management.
In order to factor in the many, constantly changing regulations and control the impact of our activities on the environment, our company has decided to set up an Environmental Management System in stages, with ISO14001 certification as the ultimate goal.

As part of this strict environmental management, all wastewater from our sites is treated and thus meets the discharge standards currently in force.

This is the case with the JOUY site, where wastewater is treated in a plant using a lagoon system, and stored in ponds of 600,000 sq. m.
This water is then used to irrigate farmland. Twenty farmers working a total surface area of 1,100 hectares benefit from this water provision.

The site at Gruchet, which treats its own wastewater in a treatment plant, discharges its water into the natural environment.
The sludge resulting from this treatment is spread over more than three hundred hectares of farmland. This sludge provides part of the fertilising elements (Sodium and Potassium) needed by crops.

All this watering and fertilisation is strictly monitored, according to regulations that also include the agronomic monitoring of each plot of land. This enables the amount of fertiliser to be adjusted to just the right proportions.
These are two examples of our collaboration with players in the world of farming – also our suppliers, all carried out with the most stringent respect for the natural surroundings and the environment.
