"As the son of farmers who had settled in the Puy de Dôme, I always wanted to work in the food sector, but with a scientific slant. So I started off by taking a vocational training certificate in agribusiness, to which I added a certificate specialising in automation. This two-pronged training enabled me to join Senoble at a time when the company was beginning to automate its facilities.

So I participated in this considerable changeover while continuing my studies at the same time. I wanted to become an industrial engineer. For over two years, with encouragement from the Senoble management, I carried out studies combined with work experience, and worked every evening at home. You can imagine how overjoyed I was when I obtained my diploma in 2005!

During that time I carried on working as a technical engineer. Here are few figures to give you an idea. The site makes 200,000 metric tons of ultra-fresh products every year. This mobilises 150 vats, around 300 pumps, and nearly 5,000 valves. It all operates by automation, computer programmes and visualisation diagrams that enable the operators to see when the vats are empty or full, to qualify and quantity the products stored there, and monitor their circuits. So I am responsible for this gigantic Meccano set, in terms of both design and operation.

Today I am focusing more on project management, which among other things involves preparing for the introduction of tomorrow's technologies into our industry. I'm glad to be doing a job where you can be passionate about both technological innovation and major issues like the environment, security and people's well-being. These ideas reflect the real values of the company as well."
